SUPREMACY OF THE CONSTITUTION The Constitution of The Republic of Trinidad And Tobago Act Chapter 1:01 (hereinafter referred to as “the Constitution”) is the supreme law of the land. The Constitution declares that the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is a sovereign democratic State: Section 1 (1) of the Constitution. Section 2 of the Constitution states that it is the supreme law of Trinidad and Tobago, and any other law that is inconsistent with the Constitution is void to the extent of the inconsistency.
