Widow of worker killed at NiQuan plant wants accident report
The widow of Allanlane Ramkissoon, the Massy Energy Engineered Solutions Limited (MEES) employee who died in an accident at the NiQuan plant last year, has asked Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley for a copy of the investigation report.
A letter sent by Sarah Ramkissoon’s attorney, Martin George, gives Rowley seven days to provide a copy of the report.
In the letter, George said, “We write to call upon your good self as the Head of Cabinet of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to provide us with a copy of the Report from the investigation into the accident which occurred on 15th June 2023 at NiQuan’s Plant and which resulted in the death of Mr Allanlane Ramkissoon.
“We trust that your good office will act with utmost transparency and we therefore look forward to receiving a copy of the said Report within seven (7) days of the date hereof.
Ramkissoon, a pipe fitter, died from injuries he sustained in an accident at NiQuan’s gas to liquids plant last June. His widow has signalled her intention to sue Massy and NiQuan. Through her attorneys, she has asked both companies to make a financial settlement to the family in line with the pain and suffering her husband would have endured.
Legal letters were sent to both companies last July and Ramkissoon also asked for a full and comprehensive report on the accident which claimed the life of her husband.
